I recently sung with a friend’s band. My neighbour, whom I’ve known my entire life sent me a text asking me if I could meet him at his house in a few minutes and that he had to ask me something, so, I was rather confused but really curious so I ran over and when I got there, the entire band was sitting there expectantly. My neighbour, Marc Andre, told me they needed a girl for some vocals and they wanted to know if I was willing.
I was ecstatic at this point because the band is right down my alley. They’re sort of, trash, metal core, sometimes heavy alternative genre and they already had a death growler, they need someone for clean vocals and the occasional feminine snarl. I dont sing choir, I cant do choir, I like growling, snarling and howling.
I was totally there.
So we went downstairs where they were set up and told me what the “set list” was for the night: A7x ‘Little Piece of Heaven’ and a re-done version (sans the opera) of ‘Nymphetamine’ by Cradle of Filth. So, we started up, when through each song twice without vocals just to get a feel for it and then we started. It was great, ‘Little Piece of Heaven’ was super easy since it’s one of my favourite songs, it’s more of a play than an actual song, most of the female lines are sung/spoken, and so it was pretty easy. ‘Nymphetamine’ was a different story; we both ran out of breath a little more than halfway through and just crapped out. We tried again and got through it once but that was it, the guitarist, Philip, broke two strings and the drummer, Vinnie, had to pick up his little sister from something. So, after it all, Marc asked me to come back again sometime in the summer to cover some more stuff, he mentioned Devil Driver and something about Coal Chamber. I’m pretty psyched.

so where can we download the recordings, eh?
Haha, I wish we could do that, unfortunatley, it cost far too much money for some college students sub-existing on pizza and Chinese take-out :D
naw, if you already had the band eqipment just pipe the mix to a laptop and record it :D
