The Tops.

May 21, 2008 / by jumpthefear

(I thought I would start up weekly Top Lists. So, here they are.)

Top 5 Songs This Week

  1. Chainsaw Buffet by Lordi

The lyrics are gritty, horror movie-esque and really fun. The song itself is nice on the ears and the intro of reving chainsaws is great as well.

  1. Transylvanian Concubine by Rasputina

Some of you might recognize this song from Buffy the Vampire Slayer since I think they used it once. Nice and low-key with really engaging lyrics, very catchy.

  1. Sanctuary by Darling Violetta

The instrumental introduction to the TV series Angel (one of my favorites) Song is really relaxing but haunting and creepy at the same time.

  1. Crawl Straight Home by The Horrorpops

Psychobilly, gotta love it. The song is fun, upbeat but still keeps the band's image of horror at the forefront.

  1. Ramalama (Bang Bang) by Roisin Murphy

Beyond creepy and extremely addictive. Anyone who listens will be taken back to images of the nurses in Silent Hill, dragging thier bodies across the floor in a morbid and deranged form of dance.

So, I recomend checking them out and giving some new tunes a try, let me know what you think!
